Welcome and Opening addresses

Chargalytics context

Opening remarks from the European Commission set the political tone for the day — watch for signals on how AFIR, the Electricity Market Design reform and upcoming smart-charging guidance will actually be enforced. For operators and OEMs, this is where you gauge whether Brussels sees bidirectional charging as a near-term compliance issue or a longer-term ambition.

Session 1

European overview of V2G deployment

Chargalytics context

V2G remains stuck between pilot and product across most of Europe, and this session lays out where legislation (ISO 15118-20 mandates, grid access rules, market design) is unblocking business models versus where it's still stalling them. Anyone building a bidirectional charging product needs to know which member states are closest to viable revenue stacks and why others aren't.

With EV uptake reaching record levels, harnessing EV flexibility is increasingly important to alleviate grid congestion, reduce peak demand and integrate renewable energy. While barriers remain, recent legislative and non-legislative measures are addressing many of these challenges, paving the way for smart and bidirectional charging and enabling viable business models.

OCEI

Chargalytics context

No agenda details available — the acronym alone suggests an interoperability or open-ecosystem initiative worth tracking for anyone dealing with cross-platform charging standards. Key question: what problem is this initiative solving that existing standards bodies (OCPP, OCPI, ISO 15118) aren't already addressing?

10:45 –12:00 Main Summit Stage
Session 2

National Implementation Pathways - From Sandbox to Market

Chargalytics context

Regulatory sandboxes have proven smart and bidirectional charging works technically; the harder problem is turning national pilots into bankable business models at scale. With a Renault OEM voice, an energy flexibility provider and a Dutch ministry official on stage, expect a real debate on where national implementation is outrunning — or lagging — EU-level policy.

This session will explore how national frameworks can move smart and bidirectional charging from pilots and regulatory sandboxes to wider market deployment. It will discuss key enablers, remaining barriers and lessons learned from national approaches, with a focus on creating the regulatory and market conditions needed to scale up viable business models.

CEI-Sphere

Chargalytics context

No description or speakers listed, so the substance is unclear — likely a CharIN/CEI-adjacent standards or ecosystem initiative. Worth attending to determine whether it duplicates or complements existing interoperability efforts already crowding this space.

12:00 –13:00 Main Summit Stage
Session 3

Minimum Viable Interoperability Stack - Standards, Testing and Certification

Chargalytics context

Multi-vendor interoperability is the single biggest blocker to scaling V2G commercially, and this session tackles it head-on with testing and certification specialists from JRC, VEDECOM, ElaadNL and DEKRA. The real question for the industry: is there an agreed minimum viable stack yet, or is every deployment still a bespoke integration project?

This session is geared to answering the question: What is the physical testing path to achieving true multi-mark interoperability for bidirectional charging in Europe and other world-markets? Contributions are initiated and introduced by two impulse presentations. The first will inform about international efforts to achieve interoperability in V2G, exemplifying the new "EU-India Innovation Hub on electric vehicle charging technologies and testing". A second impulse talk explains how IEA EV-TCP Task 53 paves the way from pre-testing to Multiparty testing (in AC and DC), identifying a minimum viable interoperability stack in view of e.g., ISO 15118-20. An expert panel follows, moderated by H. Scholz.

Trialog

Chargalytics context

No description or speaker details provided — likely tied to the Trialog consortium's work on EV smart charging standards or interoperability testing. Attendees should look for concrete deliverables rather than status updates.

Best4Grid

Chargalytics context

No agenda details available; Best4Grid suggests a grid-flexibility or V2G project name. The value here depends entirely on whether results (not just project scope) are presented.

14:00 –14:45 Main Summit Stage
Session 4

V2G as a Grid Operator Tool - Congestion, Flexibility Procurement and Grid Operation

Chargalytics context

Enedis and Stedin are two of Europe's largest DSOs actively piloting EV flexibility for congestion management — this is a chance to hear directly from grid operators rather than aggregators or OEMs about what they actually need from V2G. Central question: are DSOs ready to procure EV flexibility as a standard grid tool, or still treating it as experimental?

ePowerMove

Chargalytics context

No description or speakers listed — ePowerMove appears to be a named project or initiative, but its relevance to smart/bidirectional charging isn't established from the title alone. Worth confirming scope before prioritizing this session.

14:45 –15:30 Main Summit Stage
Session 5

Digital Platforms to aggregate flex and scale-up V2H and V2G

Chargalytics context

Interoperable aggregation platforms are the missing link between fleets of bidirectional chargers and grid/market revenue streams — without them V2G and V2H remain isolated pilots. Depot charging is the logical first proving ground since fleets offer predictable schedules and concentrated flexibility volumes. Watch for how open the proposed 'Coalition of the Willing' architecture actually is versus vendor-locked platforms like Easee's or PIONIX's own stacks.

The objective of a digital platform for energy aggregators is to enhance the management and optimisation of distributed energy resources (DERs) within the energy system. The session will address the concept a Digital Platform for Aggregators as postulated by the Coalition of the Willing for Bidirectional charging, discussing depot charging as a concrete industrial business case providing flexibility to the grid.

V2X Cluster

Chargalytics context

A cluster session likely grouping V2X-adjacent talks or demos; the value for attendees will hinge on which use cases (V2G, V2H, V2B) and which maturity stage — pilot or commercial — are actually represented.

16:00 –17:00 Main Summit Stage
Session 6

V2G from vehicle manufacturers' point of view

Chargalytics context

OEM commitment is the long-standing bottleneck for V2G — chargers and grid codes can be standards-ready while vehicle-side bidirectional support and warranty terms lag. With EC, UNECE and industry association voices in the room, this session should surface where ISO 15118-20 and grid-code harmonization actually stand versus where they're still paperwork, and whether manufacturers like Ampere are committing to production timelines or just pilots.

Presentation: "Towards Interoperable V2G in Europe: Standards, Coordination and Grid Integration in Practice". What hurdles still exist for commercial rollout?

Closing

V2G Leaders Europe Closing

Chargalytics context

A closing session pairing European Commission policy officials with Task53 signals this is about translating pilot-stage V2G learnings into regulatory and standardization priorities for the next phase. Anyone tracking EU flexibility market design or vehicle-grid integration mandates should note what commitments or timelines get stated here versus left open.
